    Travelling from Nadi – Los Angeles can be a really daunting flight. Especially if it leaves at 11 pm and it being a 10 hour flight. Fiji airways is the only airline in the world ( as far as I have experienced ) that charges extras ( $99FJD ) if you require a emergency exit row seat, which I think is ridiculous. There are many big people for whom a normal seat is pretty uncomfortable for a 10 hour flight. Overall, staff are very friendly, slow in service though. In flight entertainment repeats for a month!! Meals a pathetic! If you have a choice, dont fly Fiji Airways!!

    Worst experience of my life . Reservations staff bookings everything is so bad. And yet I still haven’t received a acknowledgement letter to say that have read my complaint and at least say you are sorry.. pffttt t your a stuck up airline. Noone wants to fly with you. I was stuck in another country because of you guys stressing out with my 4 year old son not knowing what to do and how to get back home. Never again in my lifetime. I’d rather walk then fly your airline.

    Fiji is one of the worst choices I have ever made with international flying. First your only alloted one check bag we had two. Thats ok we will pay, but we had to pay $180?? On the website it doesnt say anything about a price. Than they lost it and cant find it for a week now and wont answer the phone or emails. Flyers be aware there baggage system is stone age its all manual with a piece of paper. Its a terrible tracking system. As far as the flight dont expect much either. The crew was really nice, but the plane was in terrible shape. Fiji is a dieing airline and I will not be giving them any more of my money.

    We decide to travel to Fiji for a holiday. On our way to back to Sydney we were to fly via Nadi from Suva. We had spend most our holiday in Suva while checking-in for our flight to Sydney which was via Nadi we were told by Fiji Airways that we will have to recheck ourselves again at Nadi for the Sydney flight. We were very disappointed to come to know about this? We were told well in advance prior to making our booking and while paying for the trip that we will not have to recheck ourselves at Nadi and will receive our bags in Sydney. The customer service staff said that we had been misinformed which was very disappointing and after my husband and i explained to them that this was our first trip to Fiji and we had big bags and we would appreciated it if they can check to see if it was a mistake of some sort. Fiji Airways customer Service said they couldn’t do anything and were rude in their approach towards us. We were really disappointed and did not want any drama so we asked them if they can put us on a later connecting flight and were disappointed to know that there was no another flight late in the evening so sad and very disappointing our connecting flight was 7 hours earlier

    What can we say for a little Pacific airline that has no experience in flight crew training and reservations. They have not changed a bit from the days when they were air Pacific. They were lucky to survive financial hardship in 1993 from Qantas who had taken over this pathetic airline. I booked on the YBBN/NFFN flight QF398 and found they wanted to charge me $39.00 dollars for a window seat. My God being a Qantas club member doesn’t worry them a bit. Their service is crap like the food. As for reservations very poor. Because Qantas code share with this airline FJ pax get the option over QFA pax and if you not a QFA club member you will get charged a window seat. What rubbish I have being flying them since 1993 to and from Fiji. Never again, I will use Virgin or ANZ. Qantas should operate their own aircraft.
    EDITORS COMMENT: I don’t understand why full service airlines charge for seat selection – Qantas do it for international flights too . For the emergency exit, sure, but for standard seats it just isn’t right.
