We have flown the San Francisco – Southeast Asia route dozens of times, usually to Bangkok, on at least 9 different airlines, including Cathay Pacific,China Air, Garuda (LAX), JAL, Korean,Singapore, Thai, & United. EVA is the best value by far. We’ve flown with them 3 times. We’ve never had a problem with late flights (no more than 1/2 hour late), check-in staff and telephone agents are efficient, flight attendants are polite, seats are reasonably comfortable, food, if not gourmet, is always edible, the flight arrival times and length of flights (to BKK) are good, and very important to us, the fares are very competitive. There are better, more costly airlines (Singapore), but EVA is the best value out there.

EVA did not provide vegetarian food or “special” meal for my mom. I have requested when I was booking through cheapoair.com. It could be because the cheapoair people did not communicate with EVA air.

I used to look forward to long haul like a trip to the dentists until discovered the lovely Eva Air. We regularly travel return from Europe to Bangkok and now
the journey is a joy in Elite Economy with tasty food and non-obese pretty stewardesses waiting on us hand and foot all the way. With our journey originating in Manchester we have to connect to Eva either at the ghastly Heathrow or Amsterdam. The transit chaos at Schiphol last flight was sickening and we will have to avoid completely in future. Come on Eva let’s have a direct flight from Manchester without delay even if it’s only once a week to start with.

Heed my warning when it comes to poor customer service. I was charged $225 for a change in departure date, and I demanded a refund as I was told that it would be $75. The original conversation was over the phone. I started by stating who I was and that I wanted to change the date I was leaving. They asked if the reservation I was under had two other people, which I confirmed. They quoted that it would be $75/person if I wanted to do this; so I agreed, gave my card number, and that was it. When I saw the $225 charge, I called asking for a refund. They refused because when they said it was going to be $75/ person I didn’t once again state it was just for me…even after hearing the recording and confirming that I clearly stated I wanted to change MY ticket in the initial interaction. Not only that, at the end of the call, they did not give me a final quote saying $225 will be charge to card number ****. Their response to this was that I did not ask for the total. I continued to call back to argue my side, but it was clear that the representative had begun trying to dodge me in any way she could. I don’t ever want to go through anything like this again. First and last time I’m flying

Fly business class from Vancouver to Taipei, return. Seats did not recline fully as expected. You can prop up your legs with extra pillows. That helped. Pillows and blanket are very nice quality. Outbound food was okay. Inbound food not to my tastes but not necessarily bad. Flight crew were excellent. Entertainment system was excellent. Seat comfort other than the lack of full recline was quite good in comparison to other business class flights.
