Poor service. I have never been asked to weigh my carry on luggage by any other airline. My wife and i had no problem on the way to our destination through united. EVA gave us many problems and kept asking us to take weight out then put back in then out and in. Then we had to pay but the manager knew we had to go through her and disappeared so we had to wait 30 more minutes for her to return in order to pay. Then she took another 30 mins to slowly write down the info. Never flying EVA again.

Eva airline is one of the ripped off airline in the industry. I left Vietnam on December 30, 2016 with the ticket that I purchased 6 months in advance. During check in, the airline receptionist asked me to show the credit card that I used to purchase the ticket. The credit card number was mismatched because my credit card was stolen in October 2016, and the credit card company replaced with a new card. Even those the ticket has been paid, EVA made me buy a new ticket with the highest ticket price of the month of December. I had no choice to purchase a higher price ticket, and take another $75penalty for stolen credit card. I sent many appeals to the company in Taiwan, and the EVA stupid policy to benefit company by refusing to full refund of the original ticket. EVA is the only airline has the credit card matching policy. I will make sure all my friends and co-workers avoid to fly with EVA.

What I love most was the free movies and games, there’s a good amount of entertainment to keep you occupied during the long flights. Clean bathrooms and enough free meals yo keep you full. The flight attendants we’re always busy, there’s also the communication barrier, sometimes the answers were short and can be interpreted as unfriendly.

Example: I ask for water and she responded, but I still didn’t get my water, she had some bottled water and saw her pouring water for the passengers in front of me.

Another incident, we didn’t receive an Immigration Form but some passengers did, we asked for one and we didn’t get a definite or clear answer.

The overall flight was great, except the flight attendant that serviced me from Taipe to Bangkok. My parents and I asked for a can of Diet Coke for each person, which would be ok for me if she cannot give, but she acts very rude to us. She made an unsatisfied face toward me and complaint about our request to my parents that we have asked too much and they didn’t load a lot of drinks on the airplane. The bad point is that we wouldn’t have asked if we didn’t feel dehydrated after a long flight from USA to Taipe and Taipe to Bangkok. It would be a lot nicer if she could just politely deny us.

The people make the company, the company does not make the people. My trip using Eva was great, but one individual of Eva made my trip spectacular. Emma Chu was a stewardess with Eva. She performed all of her duties with elegance and grace. A true professional who despite the huge responsibilities always did her job with a smile. She should be nominated for employee of the year. A huge asset to Eva Air.
