    Happened to travel on Etihad Airways after a long time for my vacation to India. On several counts, it was disappointing. On the way to India, we had requested for meal preference by calling the Airline’s customer service number in Abu Dhabi directly and was told that they don’t have enough of what we asked for. The crew was apologetic and advised us to write to a generic mail box. And on the way back, the ground staff at TRV was adamant in explaining policy of the airline and asked me to pay $ 120 as excess baggage fee but it took them a while to figure out how to collect that!! Irked since I had to really negotiate and subsequently rearrange my luggage at the airport. The onboard grub is really below par. For a 16 hour flight from AUH to LAX, their portion sizes were small and didn’t have snacks available for people to grab between meals. When the airline is selling snacks on an international flight, it is a clear indication!!!

    WARNING: This airline is a scam. They will take your money, cancel your flight and never refund you.

    This airline sells tickets that simply do not exist.

    I would go with any other airline even if it is more expensive. Let my loss be your lesson!

    Do yourself a favor and look at reviews on other websites as well. This is a common problem.

    I have been a loyal Etihad customer since 2007, shortly after they entered the market. In the early years the quality and service was amazing. That has changed drastically in recent years, probably in an effort to stem the $billions in annual losses. Aircraft feel worn. Frequent flyer benefits curtailed to nearly non-existant. As a gold member, I was unable to book ap seat near the front, despite the aircraft being nearly empty. I fly weekly this is typical.

    Very disappointing… Etihad Airways wouldn’t credit my missing miles even if the oversight was on their part. I provided my Etihad Guest number upon check-in and it’s clearly printed on my boarding passes. I didn’t review my Activity History right away because I was confident that I provided my Etihad Guest number upon check-in and I trusted them to credit my miles accurately. That was my only mistake. I requested them to re-consider because again, the oversight was on their part, not mine. However, regardless of the number of times I followed up, they just kept giving me canned responses. I always used to post my photos aboard the Etihad Airways A380 Business Class on social media with a caption “my favorite cradle in the sky”… but… never again…

    We flew from Sydney to Abu .Dhabi. we stood for 2h to check-in. The staff were very inefficient, with long periods when the queue didn’t move at all. Many stressed people. The flight itself was fine, but cabin crew was inefficient. They were super slow at getting the meals out, they ignored call buttons and they didn’t even mention fastening seat belts over blankets so that they could check they were fastened. They woke us all up twice during this overnight flight, putting the lights on, to serve completely unnecessary snacks. On our connecting flight to London, once again call buttons were ignored and even when I went up to ask for drinks they were reluctant to serve me and refused to give me the normal snack with the drink, saying that sandwiches were about to be served (it took 30 minutes!).
