I am a platinum flyer so I have flown with Etihad a few times Sydney to London via Abu Dhabi. In the past I found them above average but after my recent experience with them I will not fly with them again. I booked my flight with Corporate Traveller (travel agent) to fly on Etihad but Etihad cancelled this due to the virus. Their website talks of refunds in under 45 days but that is just a dream. I have been waiting almost four months. The travel agent tells me they have escalated this with Etihad and Etihad tell me to deal with the travel agent.
I understand this is not a normal situation but they should be able to tell me yes it is being refunded and it will be done by a certain date. Again …………..just a dream.

Jetsmart refuses to refund money after COVID-19 crisis, even though by law in Argentina, where I was flying to, they are obliged to.
They say only option is a gift voucher for this year, which I cannot accept because I won’t fly to Argentina and they refuse any other option. They have also stopped answering me.
    Really bad customer service.

Upset that given the recent circumstances of covid 19, Etihad is not offering refunds. Credits are fair enough but they have put time restraints on the credits. Which is unfair. You need to rebook within 5 months and can only travel until Sept 21. Really appalled and won’t chose them in the future.

@EtihadAirways refusing to pay customers a full refund on flights they(Etihad) have cancelled is quite simply theft.

I have wasted countless hours on the phone only to be told my ticket is non refundable (what a surprise) and my flights have been cancelled……….

but hey don’t worry (anything after a but is boll*cks) you can re-book without fee or get Etihad credit, Whoopeedo, both scenarios rigged heavily in Etihad’s favour, keeping your money in their bank for an extended period and then they will charge you a sh*t load more for a new or rebooked flights.

I booked with Etihad expecting a little bit of class and unfortunately along with thousands of others have been royally shafted, they should change their name to Beenhad or Theftihad.

In 2017, my husband and I chose Al-Etihad airline to go to the US from our home country. Our flight to Abu-Dhabi had a delay so when we arrived Abu-Dhabi airport, we missed our connecting flight. They refused to find another flight to the US on that day and instead found one for tomorrow morning. In Abu-Dhabi, Al-Etihad staff told us If you had American, British, or Australian passport, you could go to a hotel, otherwise you had to spend the night in the airport! They renewed our stay after 8 hours in 10 PM to cover up their unlawful action of keeping us more than 20 hours in the airport. For sleeping there were so many semi-coffin beds next to each other in one room. It was very terrifying to sleep in a room next to so many stranger people. On top of that staff were very rude and irresponsible. When we went to cafeteria to get some food with the vouchers, they told us: “Your vouchers are only good for bread and cheese!”. This was a big shame for Al-Etihad.
