    WARNING: This airline is a scam. They will take your money, cancel your flight and never refund you.

    This airline sells tickets that simply do not exist.

    I would go with any other airline even if it is more expensive. Let my loss be your lesson!

    Do yourself a favor and look at reviews on other websites as well. This is a common problem.

    I can’t begin to describe what a nightmare this airline is! Just got back from a trip to Egypt, Abu Dhabi being our major connecting airport, and the travel to and from home was awful. Because of delays (4+ hours at JFK going, 1+ hour at Abu Dhabi coming home), we missed a total of 3 connecting flights. That was bad enough but to top it off, their customer service is HORRIBLE. Another issue: When we finally made it back to LAX coming home, we were already in danger of missing our connecting flight because of a delay coming in from Abu Dhabi but then we get to baggage claim to get our bags to change airlines and it takes an hour to get our bags! I can honestly say I will NEVER fly this airline again. You can’t depend on them to be on time and they really do have bad customer service. Even on the flights the attendants acted like they had no desire to go above and beyond what they had to do to keep their job.

    Etihad recently extorted $3,417.36 from my family. It seems they view themselves above the law.
    1) On 11th of February 2019 I attempted to purchase return tickets for me, my wife and daughter Eva to the UK using Etihad’s website
    2) their site crashed in the booking process, resulting in my wife being issued two tickets, and my daughter none
    3) we immediately called Etihad and requested the name be changed
    4) we were told the fare was non-refundable and our only option was to cancel the ticket and purchase a new one
    5) the consultant advised us to lodge a “Complaint” through their website – which we did
    6) several weeks, and multiple emails later – their phone consultants were still unable to resolve or escalate the issue
    7) on the eve of travel we were forced to purchase a new ticket for my daughter costing $3,417.36. A partial refund on the old ticket of $1,428.26 was promised but has never been received.
    We contacted the department of Fair Trading in Australia to help resolve the issue. Etihad have refused to respond to them, just as they have ignored us.

    I travelled from Islamabad to Sydney via Abu Dhabi on 1 May by EY234 and further to Sydney by EY450.

    I had a good impression of Etihad Airways but I never had such poor service by staff, be it in the plane or on the ground and substandard meals on an international travel in the last 40 years.

    I have been a loyal Etihad customer since 2007, shortly after they entered the market. In the early years the quality and service was amazing. That has changed drastically in recent years, probably in an effort to stem the $billions in annual losses. Aircraft feel worn. Frequent flyer benefits curtailed to nearly non-existant. As a gold member, I was unable to book ap seat near the front, despite the aircraft being nearly empty. I fly weekly this is typical.
