Cathay Pacific

For quite a few years I use to fly from Heathrow and travelling to the airport is always a nightmare, this time I flew on a brand new A350 from Gatwick (no stress and much nearer to me). The new A350 is absolutely gorgous, a slight new improve business class and now can watch live news and watch tv while waiting for take off. This is the first time ever, where I can actually hear stewardess voice as the cabin is really really quite, 100 per cent better and superior than B777 another bonus my ears never pop. Love it

Recently flew four sectors with Cathay Pacific. On two sectors we managed to get off the ground 2 hours late, once because someone forgot to get the plane out of the hangar and on another occasion it was one hour late but did manage to make up the time.
Cathay Pacific stuffed up our booking so that on the last sector my wife and I were assigned to seats in different rows. Staff refused to do anything about this and told us they couldn’t see in the system that we were travelling together despite the fact we already flown 3 sectors together, have same surname and our e-tickets were consecutive numbers and when you look up one number in the system both names come up.
Cathay’s Premium Economy is not up to the same standard as BA or Qantas and while the seats are more comfortable than Economy the price differential is not worth the cost, especially when the rows are so close together so that when the passenger in front fully reclines their seat it is very tight.

15 hour flight from LA to Hong Kong. Flight was delayed an hour (as was our flight to Hong Kong). It was really hot the whole flight until they turned the air on about 30 minutes before landing. Two seats had intermittent failings with inflight entertainment equipment. Flight from Hong Kong back to Australia then delayed 1 hour and 20 minutes. Would not recommend for economy. Travelled Singapore Air 18 months ago. Much better in my opinion.

Flew Premium Economy and not as good as other airlines. Did not feel special at all. No stewards just for PE so even though we got served first had to wait for ages until they finished with economy for trays to be cleared. Drink service with champagne ect was hit and miss. Missing items on seats ie no pillow, no pack on some.
Only a few rows in cabin yet ran out of food choices. No checking with stewards on other aisle of the plane as daughter on one side was only offered seafood which she doesnt eat yet my Dad on the other side wanted sea food but they had run out.
No toilet in cabin, had to go back to economy. Hot drinks served in little plastic cups. Had to forward same adverts before every movie pr episode.
Would not fly PE with them again as they just dont live up to other airlines. The seats were comfy and roomy though. Really not worth the extra money.

Es gab nichts auszusetzen. Es verlief alles zur vollen Zufriedenheit. Freundliches Personal, gutes Essen.
