    AVOID AUSTRIAN AIRLINES!
I am a travel agent. Two of my clients were scheduled to fly Austrian Airlines from Vienna to Washington on July 31.
They arrived at the airport about 2 hours prior to the departure time. There were masses of passengers ahead of them in the line and only a few open check-in desks available.
Due to the airlines’ understaffing of the check-in desks and the long lines, my clients missed the flight.
To make matters worse, Austrian Airlines did not offer to put them on the next available flight (even if it had been the next day). They were told to fend for themselves!
They took a train to Munich and boarded another airline, at their own expense.
Austrian Airlines should be ashamed of itself for the shabby treatment of paying passengers. The airline refuses to compensate my clients.

We usually avoid Austrian due to its Russian roulette alike crews on board
: professional attitude extreamly varies. Some apears very professional, the rest does absolutely not. However we had to take OS int’l flight this time as no other direct flight to our destination was available.

The facts regarding our return flight back to Vienna observed:
a crew with NO name tag attached.
an elderly crew with hearing difficulties.
Several loud and heated querrel between crews while serving food & beverage along aisles and over passengers seat.
Rude verbal expression/body language to passengers.
a crew rejects walked up passenger’s request for beverage in cabinet area nearby claiming they do not serve for the moment when crews simply resting behind curtains.
So many other unpleasant incidents that
    were witnessed.

We in fact then had an opportunity to talk with a person in charge on board, especially, on name tag matter. explanation: due to its quality, tag prone to be missedeasily in general, thus, not worn by the concerning crew. We found it very unconvincing, though, on the quality issue.

Needless to sayWe will keep on avoiding OS on business&in private.

It was the worse experience I ever had in my entire life while flying Austrian Airlines!
The members of Austrian Airlines that I dealt with are rude, not caring and mostly not helpful.
I flew via Vienna to London from another country. The airport in Vienna was closed due to adverse weather condition and pilot flew to Budapest to get refuel. Passengers were for 7 hours stuck in aircraft without food (apart from sweet cake and some drinks). After arriving in Vienna all Austrian Airlines service centres were closed but only one open with 4 members serving queue of 200 people. My flight was delayed for 14 hours; I was late for my meeting at work.
Austrian airlines gave food vouchers for Starbucks which was closed at that time, no transfer to hotel; I have to pay my own money both ways. Further to my bag was lost and I still waiting from Austrian Airlines to contact me. It is not a budget airline, I paid £300 for my ticket but the service is terrible. I would never fly Austrian Airlines again!

YYZ-VIE-IKA, June 5th and Return IFN-VIE-YYZ, June 30. YYZ to VIE was good, but impolite cabin crew. Once we got to Vienna, we found out our other flights (next segment and return) have been canceled without any notice. We only found out about cancellation at the gate in VIE; and again the most of the ground staff were impolite. We were informed that our next flights didn’t exist anymore and they can put us on the next flight to IKA in 11 hours. Also we would need to contact Turkish airlines at our destination to book our return tickets as they have an internal agreement with them.
Nobody apologized for what happened. We didn’t even hear the word Sorry in VIE. Instead of that, one of the Austrian superintendent who was so rude said that they are not responsible to get us to our destination. !!!! DO YOU BELIEVE THAT! MAYBE THEIR RESPONSIBILITY IS SERVING FOOD TO PEOPLE.
We asked to talk to their manager. After she made the manager we could talk to him. He gave us the same attitude. He was Rude, Impolite, snobbish,.. Again he didn’t only say a simple Sorry for what happened there. Finally we convinced them to rebook us with Turkish at their desk
    NEVER FLY WITH AUSTRIAN AIRLINES

Very poor service. Unacceptable, no professional. My flight was cancelled with no information. Then the flight has been replaced with another after 3 hours and then the gate has been changed for the third time and had delay again for 30 minutes. The austrian service gave me a voucher of 4 euro for compensation. Ridiculou!!. Is this the cost of your passengers? Euro 1,20 per hour.. We are human being no packages.I will never flight with Austrian again!
