This is my first long haul flight, from London to Manila. I traveled with my husband and infant daughter. All I can say my experienced to this airline is lovely. Except to the flight attendant. I just got a weird experienced to them. Maybe because some of them can’t speak english. Most of the passenger at that time is Korean, so they speak to their language. Some of my request are not being dealt properly, but it’s not a major thing so no problem, that I still enjoy my flight with them.

Great service. CAs were super nice and sweet and very friendly. They were genuinely interested in making our trip enjoyable for us, esp. it being such a long-haul w/ a young child.

After flying w/ them, it’s an absolute terror to fly w/ U.S. based airlines because of their drab and dirty interior, lack of service and poor attitude of crew / staff.

Asiana was really great to fly with. Their staff is super friendly, the seats are very comfortable and even the pillows and head-rest felt better suited for sleeping on long transatlantic flights.

The food was pretty good and they offer two options – a local option (such as Korean) and Western. They offer free wine and alcohol for lunch and dinner.

Staff was very attentive and much better than that of most US airlines. They smiled and walked the isles at least 2 times with coffee and tea; and if you overslept, they happily came back to get you whatever you wanted.

The flight left and arrived on time. The seats felt very roomy, had leg rest, and everyone was offered blankets and pillows, as well as slippers.

Each seat had individual TVs with remote. But the equipment wasn’t quite new – my screen had a permanent white line across the horizon so it was a bit in the way, but nothing terrible.

EDITORS COMMENT: Thank you for sharing your informative and balanced review. Sounds like a very nice flight.

My flights with Asiana Airlines were very disappointing. Flight from LHR – ICN and return were on the old 777 with small TV screens. Return flight was day flight but the whole plane had the window shades down for the duration of the flight until landing therefore it really felt like a flying coffin and landing in the UK at 7pm after 11 hours of darkness was terrible. My seat was very narrow (it was smaller than the seat next to mine) and when the person in front put their seat down, there was not room at all.
The crew do not walk with drinks often and we had to walk to the back of the plane just to get some water. This is no problem for us but we received much better service on other airlines. Their wine portions are minuscule and when we wanted a ‘second’ glass with our dinner the second portion was even smaller.
Nice touch was receiving slippers. Toothbrushes were replenished in the toilets.
Their customer service in ICN is very confusing and they are passing you from pillar to post, at the end resolving nothing.
I will not be using Asiana for my flights again as there are better airlines to Asia offering much better service and leg room.

EDITORS COMMENT: Thank you for your balanced and informative review. It is annoying that they put their older planes on such long routes
