    Terrible experience – I had a carry-on bag that met the guidelines and I had to get the bag checked-in. Yet right in front of me, another passenger had the same size bag and was allowed to take their bag as a carry-on. The same bag was allowed as a carry-on heading to my destination by the way but somehow too large heading back…nothing different. Will do anything in my power to not have to fly American Airlines again.

    Original flight was delayed so could not get connecting flight up the whole East coast to get home, was forced to reschedule for the following day, was not comped in any way, had to sleep in the airport because all hotels around the area where several hundred dollars.
    do not fly American airlines!
    do not book with American airlines!
    they will charge you a fortune to change
    they strand you they just don’t give a rat’s ass about you

    Our holiday from Europe to St Martin and Jamaica involved 7 flights. This was way worst! The flight was changed once soon after booking (from a decent time to 7.02 am), then we awoke at 3.30 am on flight day to find it had been delayed 2hrs30! I also found the website terribly confusing. I had to ring twice, long distance, to check baggage details and for mobility assistance. We actually had to pay for the bag at the airport – in 64 years of flying, I’ve never had that unless I got it wrong. Most inconvenient – I like to pay dollars in one big lump as I get charged for it!
    The one plus was that we were invited to take whatever we wanted from the designated snack bar – no money limit.
    The flight was a poor one. There was only turbulence early on but the seat belt sign was never turned off, so no going to the toilet etc. There needs to be a better system – pilots have other duties and can forget!
    I will avoid if at all possible in future.

    Upon boarding our aircraft the barding crew realized that they (or American Airlines) had forgot to repair an issue with the aircraft. The captain had informed them of the issue the night before and had expected it to be fixed during the night while the aircraft was park through the evening. Instead they waited until we were supposed to board to fix the issue and it delayed us over 3 hours, causing myself and most of the other passengers to miss their connections.
    I have talked with 4 American Airline representatives and they have refused to address the issue. They refuse to take responsibility for failing to fix the aircraft.
    I fly a lot for my work and have been delayed many times. I understand that there are thing beyond anyones control. But this was not the case. They were aware of the issue and failed to fix it.
    I would not recommend them to anyone, nor do I ever plan to use them again.

    Worst airline. In a fly to Dallas to Vegas the airplaine remain 20min on runaway because no gates available. In the return fly in a conection Las Vegas Dallas happen the same and this time we lost the fly Dallas-Puerto Rico. Very arrogant employees.
