They delayed one of my flights, which out me in Dallas with very little time. Luckily, my connection was also delayed 30 minutes, so I arrived at the gate 10 minutes prior to the original time and 45 minutes prior to take off. The flight attendant was incredibly rude, and told me she couldn’t let me on when though they were still loading passengers. I some with her manager who said the same thing. They said I had already been bumped for a standby passenger, even though the flight want taking off for 45 minutes. If you want to be treated like garbage, fly American. If you want to be treated like a human, fly with ANYONE else.

Since 2005, I have logged almost a million miles on American. In 2005, and in the wake of 9/11, AA was struggling to not declare bankruptcy as had every other legacy airline. The struggle was evident in a number of ways–tired staff, old aircraft, mechanical issues, poor customer service.

However, during those years, every time that I wrote to customer service to complain, I ALWAYS received a personal response–usually an apology and an offer of miles. I even received phone calls in response to my concerns.

American has made enormous strides since then. Its frequent flyer program is miles ahead of the other US carriers. Website and APP are great. New hires are more enthusiastic and customer friendly. New planes are nice. I have had the ocassional bad experience–most often due to weather. But on the whole, my opinion is largely positive. Just yesterday, I was able to take advantage of the same day flight change and got home 8 hours earlier than scheduled.

This heartless airline couldn’t give a rip about our suffering or the money they made us lose. I will never fly with this wretch of an organization ever again. Their customer service is abysmal. Their heart is non-existent. Their service is always incomplete and incompetent. Their customer relations are worthless. Their customer service is rude and threatening. Their gate agents are ignorant and ill informed. And their company as a whole is a stain on humanity.

We were initially scheduled for Flight AA2768 at 6:00 am CDT to meet our Carnival Cruise Ship Sensation in Miami. Sensation’s last boarding and scheduled departure was at 1430 EDT. Aircraft flight 2768 was cancelled. The ticketing agent tried to schedule us on any flight that would get us to the ship on time. However, all flights to Miami were overbooked (7,am 9am and 11am EDT). There were delays on the tarmac so we missed our ship. We talked again to the baggage claim service supervisor Gretchen so we could get our bags. She said the bags were being retrieved and should be soon. We never got them. Went two days without bags or help.

We flew out of Miami and when we got to our destination we noticed our lock on our luggage bag was missing, which was a TSA approved lock, upon further inspection inside our clothes were all messed up and the bottle of Tequila we wrapped up in clothes was just laying on top with the cardboard shipping material cut off. I have no problem with TSA inspecting luggage but not in the manner that it destroys personal belongings. Travelers BEWARE of Miami International Airport!
