A most unpleasant experience. Although the staff were nice, the wait times were unbearable. The times and gates are always changing. No captain to pilot a scheduled flight. Then after waiting all day the flight gets cancelled. I was given a hotel voucher yet sent to the wrong area to meet the van. Then once at the right area I was told by a maintenance worker that I needed to pick up a phone to hear my hotel. I listen to all 15 hotel selections, none of which were the one on voucher. So I went online and found them only to have them say you have to find your own way here. At that point my money was exhausted so I stayed all night in the airport till a noon flight the next day with no sleep. Very discouraging indeed.

never fly AA. I was on three American Airline flights last month, every one was completely or partially cancelled. They had no back up flights, clerks were rude and unapologetic. When I rented a car from Charlotte NC to Charleston SC after one flight was cancelled (next available flight was 4 days later) and the clerk cancelled my return home ticket. I came back to the airport to come home and discovered my ticket was cancelled. So I went stand by, 4 hours later was in Charlotte and my next flight was cancelled. Here, by chance, I saw the clerk who had cancelled my flight. Do you remember me, I said to him, I am the one who rented a car instead of taking the flight you offered me? Yes he remembered me. when I rejected the delayed flight you offered me, you cancelled my return flight home, said I. Oh, said the clerk, did I do that? What a shame. Not in the least bit apologetic. This airline is a nightmare, does not care about customers, they are greedy, have soaring profits while people are stranded and suffering. Avoid American Airlines at all cost

Booked a business class flight from Dallas to Lisbon. Missed the connection in PHI and was sent to a hotel that had no less than 60 ppl from other missed American flights waiting to check in at 11pm. Tired and with no luggage, we checked into a different hotel for the night. Had to fight with baggage handlers to get our luggage the next morning so we could shower for the next leg. American denied us reimbursement for everything. We were 32 hours late to Lisbon, missing planned appointments. The best part of our flights was the rebooking with British Airways. They were terrific.

I fly once a month or more for work. Occasionally my plans change and I change or cancel my reservation. I’ve never had a problem canceling and receiving a refund if I cancel it within 24 hours of when it was originally booked. I needed to cancel an American flight within 5 hours of booking it. They cancelled it just fine but refused to process my refund so no flight and no money back???? I was stunned I spent 2 hours trying to get ahold of someone but they refused to help me I finally spoke with a supervisor and the best they were willing to do was rebook it. Still no refund. Over the years I’ve canceled well over 10 flights within the 24 hour window and this is the first time I’ve been given grief. Very frustrating.

I would like to say I’ll never fly American again however sometimes it’s my only/best option. But I will say this they will be the last option for the indefinite future I’d even choose frontier and spirit over them. VERY DISAPPOINTED WITH AMERICAN AIRLINES!!!
