Flew Economy
Would never fly with air Asia again. There is no inflight entertainment, food is extra and you are not even offered a glass of water on a 14 hours flight. We booked our tickets together yet we were seated across the aisle from One another. Extremely dissapointed with this airline.
EDITORS COMMENT: It is a low cost airline therefore no frills and you are required to pay if you want any extras or to sit together.

Flew Economy
Take about 24 flights (work commute) a year with them every year for the last 5 years ( Take about 100 a year all up with the Air Asia group)
Simply put the best of the low cost carriers.
Best website
Best on board service
Best customer service of the budgets ( I do about another 40 flights a year on other budgets)
Best meals
They have won best low cost carrier in the world 8 years in a row. You don’t do that if you selling an inferior product.

I have flown many times with both Air AsiaX, Thai Air Asia and Air Asia Malaysia and never had a problem. Almost all flights were on time or with only a ten minute or so delay, seats, meals and baggage were as ordered. Now, however, I find that if I were to add baggage, choose meals and seats, etc, then the price would be about the same as that of a legacy airline.

We try to fly on a budget, and we have flown on various airlines. I have an online account with Air Asia so that I can make bookings when we fly. Now, when talking about experiences, overall, it is what it is – nothing spectacular, nothing bad.
We decided to organise a small holiday for my wife’s family in Vietnam, to travel to their hometown. Later, my wife decided she wanted to join in, so we made a booking for her, with Air Asia being the cheapest at the time of booking.
As time progressed, we noticed something different with my wife – checked with the doctors and discovered that she had just gotten pregnant. So, we needed to cancel our flight as the doctor advised not to fly so early in the pregnancy.
Our friends said not to worry as we should be able to get a refund; they’ve done it before, albeit with other airlines. So, we arranged to have the flights canceled. Unfortunately, due to Air Asia’s terms and conditions, we could not get our money back. Being pregnant made no difference. I tried asking if there was some way, but after a long conversation, my only option was for an account credit. Their cancellation fee was massive too. I had also made bookings with another airl

Rude airport staff and flight staff in both Japan, Malaysia, and India. Took four flights with them in the same trip and each became worse than the previous. They didn’t notify they charge to check a bag. 120 JPY (specific weights and price increase per extra kg) at counter, 62 JPY ahead of time, but you can’t pay online, you have to call them, then they make you download the app, then they attach it to app then you can pay. They charge you for everything!!!!!! Water, blankets, food, bags, etc. Many guests at check in had to throw away things in bags, or miss flight because everyone was surprised by baggage fee. We preselected seats online, but then were sat in completely different seats separate from each other on each flight. On the way back from India they spray you with a chemical in the cabin without warning while saying “we have to spray you, for your health its better that you don’t breathe in the chemical” then when you ask them wth they sprayed you with they don’t know the answer. Every staff member from counter to flight had attitude!!
