I flew with Air Asia on trip to Thailand in 2011 and had no problems with them at all.

This airline used to be fair, but now when they change the schedule they will not consider offering you a different flight. I travel on them frequently and booked a series of flights at the same time, departing late morning. They changed the schedule 30 minutes earlier which doesn’t work for me due to child care arrangements. I tried every avenue of appeal, but they won’t offer me a flight 90 minutes later. I have now begun to fly Nok air, which hopefully will be a nicer group of people.

Worst problem-solving practice ever! Flight BKK – Tokyo was cancelled without any solid or tangible explanation. Airlines staff provided little to no assistance onsite. No seats on next available flight nor partner airlines (if they do have one) were offered. Customer Service is very uninformative and the management is very slow in responding to inquiries. This airlines definitely needs to be more customer-centric, at least show us you are trying hard enough to come up with a satisfiable solution. After all, I still believe this is a decent airlines, except for their management and customer relations teams.

This is suppose to be a LOW COST airline , but it is NOT. This airline is a crooked, cheat, lie . . . every bad things you can think of. I try the first time in February 2013 from Chiang Rai (CNE) to Bangkok (BKK) economy class WITH 2 meals purchase online in advanced….!!!!… When we check-in at the airport , we have to pay EXTRA $30 for my carry on to be a checked bag. When the plane took off…. Surprise …!!!! … A pretty air hostess inform us , there is NO MEALS we already paid for. Then she give me an alternative choice ..” MAMA Noodle cup” …!!! .. CHEAP .. I said NO and I want my money back. She tell me I have to go to a customer service window at the Don Muang Airport. So I wait in long line almost an hour just to my refund. But they will refund to my credit card later …!!! .. I was wait for 4 months

I flew from Siem Reap (Cambodia) to Bangkok and again from Melbourne to Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia) using AirAsia. I was extremely happy with the in-flight service and the competency of the pilots who flew the jets.

Fod and beverage should be ordered in advance, to ensure that you get the meal you are expecting. Prices for in-flight food are about the same as you would pay at a convenience store (ie. a little more than supermarket prices).

I have no hesitate in recommending this airline to people who are looking for a no-frills flight at a very good price.
