Not sure what type of plane it was. 12 hour flight, very straight forward and painless experience! Food was nice. Staff were pleasant. Entertainment options kept you going. Water was offered frequently. Blankets and pillows on seat when you arrived. Laid back but professional.

Boing 787-9 Dreamliner – We were taking our terminally ill son from Auckland to Perth and at the instructions of Medical Staff he and my wife were flying Business Class with a Medical escort while our daughter and I were flying economy. Air NZ staff exceeded our expectations from the time of booking (via phone to Auckland call centre) to our arrival in Perth WA.
Even though we (my daughter and I) were travelling in economy class we were afforded the privileges of Business class travel prior to the flight. Access to the lounge in Auckland was conveyed by the Air NZ call centre representative by a return phone call after confirming the bookings.
During meal service I was invited from the economy cabin to have dinner with my wife and son in Business Class. On arrival in Perth we were requested to wait for the disembarkation of other passengers. At which time our son was invited to view the flight deck, a gesture he recounted in following days.
Our sincere thanks to the entire Air NZ team (Call Centre, Auckland Ground staff, Cabin and Flight crew and Perth Ground staff) for making our sons last flight a dignified and memorable occasion.

Flew on an Airbus A320 from Christchurch to Auckland. Great flight. Crew on board were very helpful and friendly to deal with. Seats were comfortable. In flight magazine was very good but there were more pages with ads than there was with entertainment. Great airline to fly and 100% recommend it.

Bombardier Q300 Wellington to Napier. It was a full cabin. The air hostess was absolutely brilliant, courteous and extremely helpful going the extra mile to be of assistance. I weigh in at 170kgs. With plane full I knew it was going to be a tight fit. Without prompting she approached us and offered a solution. Outstanding. She was also very helpful to a distressful mother and young baby who was crying pre flight. She was able to calm the child. Her presence in the cabin was reassuring, confident and always carried an infectious smile. Thank you AirNZ. Thank you our hostess.
