Flew Auckland to Los Angeles. Full plane. The plane seemed slightly old – my headrest was slightly loose and wouldn’t stay in place.

Food was very average (unoriginal and bland). Service was pretty uninspiring – staff weren’t particularly cheerful or friendly. A huge contrast with several Qantas flights I’d taken in the weeks before.

Flown Melbourne – Auckland – Vancouver 3 times since late 2012, and 3very impressed with Air New Zealand, In-flight food was good quality for economy, flight attendants were very helpful, even on my last Auckland to Vancouver flight i had no working TV screen, was advised to wait until we took off as we had started to taxi to the runway, and then moved to another economy seat, which was the only seat left in economy. Check-In at melbourne now is easy with self serve, even arrived about an hour early in Vancouver in August 2014, which i was very happy with, after such a long flight. Have already recommended to family and friends when they want to travel to North America.

Ive flown with Air NZ both domestically & internationally many times and have nothing but positive feedback about this airline! The staff are very friendly and helpful (with great NZ charm). The toilets are always kept clean, and I even got bumped up to premium economy flying LAX>NZ then business class from NZ>MELB.
I always try book with Air NZ over other airlines.

From Auckland to Hong Kong, tried 4 machines to try getting my boarding pass printed, none of them worked. There were 3 staff to help and although there were only 2 groups of passengers in the queue before me (1 solo and 1 family of 4), it took 50 minutes before I could get my boarding pass, inefficient to a ridiculous point. One of the staff who had been at the counter with printing boarding pass just left the counter when there were still people in the queue, obviously passengers at that queue were not happy. I had experience with those self-print boarding pass and luggage stickers with another airline and did not have any problem. So ANZ, apart from having problems with the machines, they closed all their counters and taking that long to get something so simple done is completely unacceptable.

We have just flown from Hong Hong to Auckland on the overnight Air New Zealand flight.
The staff worked hard to provide comfort and safety for passengers, the meals were about as good as you can expect in the situation and the touchscreen media was very easy to use.
Thank you Air New Zealand staff for your commitment to the safety and comfort of passengers.
