They are strict with name ammendment. Where as with other airlines, if you provide marriage certificate for changing your details from maiden name to married name. This airline charges £50 for less than 3 Character and you have to book a new ticket if its more than that. The guys who answered even said “Either you pay or not fly at all”.

We recently travelled from San Francisco to Auckland on an overnight flight.
Economy class. we don’t believe we have travelled anywhere where the space between the seats was so small. You maximised the amount of seats, making it very uncomfortable. We wereOffered water through the night only once and the meal was very poor. Compared to other airlines Air NZ is not up to standard
and would not choose Air NZ again, which is a pity. Use to be a very good airline.

I bought a ticket for 6 flights from United Airlines and its partners.

I had enjoyed a flight with Qantas and 4 flights with United Airlines where food/ meals/ drinks were provided free. Then as part of this ticket’s air travel, I was put on an Air NZ flight AKL to BNE.

Air NZ only offered water, tea or coffee for this 3.5h flight – food, meal and drinks were extra cost. The number air hostesses was inadequate for number of passengers.

I don’t understand why UA use a stingy Star Alliance partner, especially when UA say they put the customer first!

I will NOT buy any ticket where Air NZ is involved.

EDITORS COMMENT: Qantas, united and ANZ are not all aligned so im not sure how you ended up on that combination but regardless of this, ANZ have different service options in economy to cater for all budgets. You were clearly on the cheapest and really should have been given the option to upgrade to the works which includes everything like Qantas. We suggest taking this up with your travel provider as the option should be yours.

The seats are narrow kiddie seats with thin rock hard cushions and the isles are extremely narrow. Not sure how this happened, we came off a Thai B747 and the seats there where nice. I just praised my lucky stars that this was a short haul flight. I am not sure how I would have coped with a long haul. the thing is that I am not a big person. Maybe cramming in as many seats width wise into a B777 as other airlines put into a B747 is not a great idea? Until Air New Zealand upgrade their seats I will avoid flying with them.

Sydney to Auckland, Boeing-777. Air New Zealand pinches pennies and has a 3-4-3 seating arrangement in 777. This is unacceptable to me, even though I am not a particularly large person. The seats and the isles are narrow. The seats along the isles all show marks of severe wear and tear from trolleys and passengers constantly banging into them. The seat cushions are hard as a rock, or just very thin. We were sitting in a skycouch seat which was useless since all the seats were occupied and no space to lie down. I wonder how much money this airline has flushed down the toilet on extra fuel, to haul the weight of these useless skycouches around the world. Maybe more than they gain by their sadistic 3-4-3 seating?
Finally, Air New Zealand is addicted to endless annoying cabin announcements. Please cut it out, your customers are adults, not kindergarten children.
