I booked a round trip ticket for two people directly with the airline.  At that time I provided them with all our details, including our Star Alliance MileagePlus account numbers. After the trip was completed, I checked our accounts and Air India had failed to credit us with the return mileage, almost 20,000.  What has ensued is the worst example of customer service I have ever encountered in 60 years of flying.  After dozens of emails and several phone calls, I have yet to be able to find anyone who will do anything to rectify the situation, in any department at the airline.  Not only will they not live up to their obligations as a member of Star Alliance, and not only will they not even supply me with the details of my return flight (eticket number, seat number, flight number), they have now totally stopped responding to my repeated attempts.  It is a mystery to me how the Star Alliance has allowed these incompetent, unprofessional and, frankly, dishonest morons in.  I have dealt with uncooperative customer service many times before, the previous worst being Dollar car rentals, but this airline specializes in not doing what they are professionally obligated to do.  Avoid Air India at all costs; if something goes wrong, you can depend on them to do nothing for you.

I travelled to India and on my way to India, my bag got lost. 34days have been passed and still no sign… denied to process my lost baggaae claim. AI staff refused to process my lost baggage claim…Air india doesnot have any office outisde India. All call centres are in India, who can not help to resolve this issue and can not direct my call to anybody who can help . It was a nightmare to get out of this situation. After researching on internet over a week, finally i found a right person to talk to . Can not believe this is our own country’s air line… feel embarressed to acknolwedge that AI is our national airline. In the plane, no show when help requested. requested. very poor customer service, unprofessional ….my final good bye to this horrible airline.

Never travel through Air India. They are super rude to everyone. I was traveling Boston to New York in JetBlue and then AirIndia but at the New York airport at the AirIndia service counter when I was checking in my bags they told me to give them 200$ because I have more than enough weight in bags. I told them then why the Logan Airport let through it and they replied “I don’t know but if you wanna get your bags through this you need to pay 200$”. I am so pissed right now. NEVER EVER gonna travel in AirIndia. Planes are really old and staff isn’t good either. My overall experience was really really bad.

We flew Melbourne to Heathrow, via Delhi, return in July 2017. I will never, ever, fly with this airline again. Our flight from Dehli to London was a nightmare. When we lined up to board, they advised us the plane was delayed. Finally they piled us onto buses, crammed in like sardines in 40 degree heat, left the buses running and left us waiting in them for over half an hour. People started banging on the windows to be let out as it was so hot. Instead of taking us to the plane they drove around to arrivals, made us get off and go through customs all over again even though we had not been out of the airport. My screen didn’t work so I had no entertainment on two of the four flights. They ran out of food. They wouldn’t answer the call button and to top it all off, on three of the four trips we had young babies screaming for the duration of the trip. I didn’t think a baby could cry for ten hours non stop. I was wrong. The seats were cramped and extremely uncomfortable and the staff rude and bullying if you complained about even the slightest thing that could have been easily remedied. I have told all my friends and family, who travel often, to boycott Air India.
