It’s a Lowcost Airlines with Full service Airline prices.
The Milan/Athens route is operated as direct flight only from Aegean and Easy Jet, To avoid inconvenience I immediately opted for the traditional airlines type of Aegean (Member of star alliance) and to be more safe I booked through their office by phone, the operator kindly suggested me, to avoid baggage related problem as I was traveling with infants, to opt for the flexy rate that include one luggage per pax up to 23Kg.
I followed her suggestion and booked for me and my wife as adult (Flexy fare) and for my twins as infant for a total amout of about 980 Eur.
We were able to fill all into a single luggage slightly less than 30Kg, with one trolley and one small bag as cabin luggage (Who travel with children knows how important is to reduce the luggage numbers).
To make it short, they require us to pay an extra weight or we should dismount the luggage and split in 2 luggages lower than 23 each… even if we had 23Kg per adult plus 10 per kid allowance with the rate suggested from their booking office… insane.
Avoiding the rude way of the supervisor Mrs V. Kapsala.
Aegean is a low cost service at full service price

Had confirmed tickets from Preza to Athens for 7 months Ticket said Aegean Airlines operated by Olympia Airlines. Attempt at eticket: “Must check in at airport.” Arrived at Preveza Olympia counter 2 1/2 hours before flight and told “on waiting list.” Next flight out in 3 days. The only flight out for 3 days was oversold and my wife and I are stranded. This flight was the first of 4 legs to get home. Appeals to supervisors were met with shrugs.

Great Company, food was not impressive but very well above average than other European companies (much better than Air France/Lufthansa etc).
Most polite personel, was surprised that they speak fluently German/French besides english.

Their booking center is horrible. I booked a wrong flight, non direct when I wanted direct. I immediately called the support center and they wanted 40� for rebooking. Could not refund even though it was few minutes after the booking.
EDITORS COMMENT: We don’t agree with it but this is the case for most airlines unless you’ve purchased a flexi fare. It doesn’t matter how quickly you call – if there’s a change that needs to be made there will be a fee. Qantas are one airline that give a 24 hour grace period.

I just flew in this morning from Athens to Sofia, Small plane, not very comfortable, BUT, the Hostess Miss Sofia Dimitriadis was one of the best air hostesses I have experienced with Aegean, and I’m a Gold card member and fly 10 to 12 trips per month with the airline. Sofia was very professional, friendly and very much service orientated. Its obvious when employees that represent a company have passion towards their job. Well done and keep up the good work.
