Flew Christchurch – Melbourne – Los Angles with Virgin. We where delayed a few hours at Christchurch due to mechanical issues however the staff where very kind and issued food/drink coupons. The delay would have meant id miss my connecting flight to LA but the ground crew managed to get a hold on my connection flight so i’d make it in time. Thanks Virgin. Flight to Melbourne was average. No/little selection of in-flight entertainment (no tv screens ect) small choice of complementary snakes and the décor of the plane was tired and old. However once airborne to LA the service and flight was excellent friendly poliet staff, great selecting of up to date entertainment (movies, music ect) all free.
However perhaps virgin could change their menu selection a little more frequently ive made this trip several times in the past year and and the meal choice has been the same.
In short there is some definite from for improvement regarding short hual international flights but virgin really hit the ball out of the park with long hual flights.
