My best friend and I were trying to get from Chicago to Vegas. We arrived at the airport about an hour and 15 before the plane was to depart but it was showing as delayed on flight aware so we didn’t panic. When we got in line to check our bags, the rude employee asked where we were going. I told him and jokingly asked if I should be nervous about being late. This clown told me that yes I should be and then actually DEMANDED to know why I was late. I told him traffic and that the plane wasn’t departing for an hour and fifteen. He informed me rather rudely that I’m ‘supposed to be here two hours early’ and told me I couldn’t board and to go to the counter. When I arrived at the counter, some ’employee’ did some work on her computer, printed off a receipt, tore it from the printer and thrust it at me. I asked her what the **** it was and she told me I was now on a 3 PM flight. Keep in mind, this is 6 AM. When I returned to the airport, the next girl was absolutely clueless what the receipt was. I explained that we were not allowed to board our original flight and my friend from last time overheard and said loudly that I had not been allowed to board because I ‘missed’ the plane despite it not having even begin boarding by the time I was not allowed to board. After she fumbled around for 15 minutes and couldn’t find my friend’s reservation, we were told our bags at 45 pounds were overweight and we’d have to pay another $25 per bag on top of them $21 we’d already paid per bag prior to that day! I didn’t do much research on the airline but I’m am avid traveler so I figured there wasn’t much I couldn’t handle but this nickle and diming stuff was just wrong. I’d rather know the full cost ahead of time. I’ll take responsibility for that but not the offensively rude employees! I implore you, do not fly this airline, ever. The seats are so tight, you can’t even cross your legs. And a 3 and a half hour ride to Vegas, better not get thirsty. Water is $3. They say they only take credit in flight but oddly on both flights the credit readers were down. Probably couldn’t afford to fix them. Oh and if you express frustration on social media, they reply with bull**** auto replied memes. Pretty insulting from a company that took me for about $500 for a flight to Vegas that I could have gotten easier and cheaper from Southwest or American. Honestly, I’m so completely appalled at the lack of hospitality, I will spend my time educating people not to give these people another dime. It’s not worth the frustration.
