    Cathay HKG-KUL Boeing 777
Flights around Asia represent much better value than flights ex Australia. Cathay for me anyway feels more “Chinese” than it used to, before pre 1997 it had more of a british feel.
The food on the sector was the worst, most unpalatable thing I have ever seen- a sickly sweet roll with some melted cheese on it. It is seldom I am unable to eat plane food, this was certainly the case. The child’s meal on Cathay is always accompanied by cheerful cutlery which is appreciated. The IFE is on continuous loop which is dissappointing, and the only movie selections were older “B” grade movies, with of course a strong emphasis on Asian movies.
The Cathay lounge continues to be the best in Asia for one world(and for that matter better than the Silver Kris lounge in Changi) with bowls of reshley prepared noodles, and in particular authentic wonton noodles. I go early to the airport just for the noodles. There are multiple departures which makes this route very attractive for me.
