Airbus A330-200 and Airbus A319. Perth to Johannesburg with night stop over in Mauritius. The flight to Mauritius was good and I rate this as a 9/10, the problem arose as they were to supply hotel accomodation over night, there was confusion as no one seem to know any thing about this, after around 1.25 hours I was lead to a taxi, the only good thing was I flew though passport and customs as there was no one else left but me.
On boarding the A319 I was allocated a front window seat, there was a barrier in front of me and heavy blocks on the floor, the result is I had my knees under my chin, after take off I was able to part move one of the blocks but even this did not allow me to extend my legs to any degree, there were three seats in a row with the centre one having a sort of cover over it, the seats were very narrow and did not incline very far, the same as in economy, the seats were exactly the same as one would expect in economy.
The entertainment was a small screen lowered from the ceiling almost above my head and the first film was Jack the Giant Killer, I did not see any children in business class, the second film did not register to me,
The flight was only 4.35 hours but it was the flight from hell, the food was ok and the flight staff were good, the reality was business class was partly converted from economy by not using the centre seat, economy would have been a better option just so you could extend your legs under the seat in front of you, lastly the lockers above the first seats were full of video equipment and other things and the person opening the locker where my baggage was dropped my laptop to the deck.
