Air Canada was the only down fall about my trip. After a long overnight flight from Vancouver to Toronto, and then from Toronto to Halifax, my sister & I were beyond exhausted. When arriving in Halifax we noticed on the screens that there were cancellations, being curious we looked and noticed Charlottetown, we immediately began to panic. We texted/called our family awaiting in Charlottetown for our arrival, to see what the weather was like; the weather was fine. We went to customer service and she explained to us that there were no staff booked for any of the flights to Charlottetown that day. My sister explained to her that we’ve had these flights booked for 3 months, and that it was insane that there was no staff, why book a flight without staff? The next flight to Charlottetown was booked for Sunday. It was Friday morning. She then explained to us that Air Canada would give us a hotel room for one night. Only one, so we would have to come up with the money to stay another night. At this time there were several upset people at the customer service desk, frustrated at Air Canada for not having staff for the flights. We then found out that was a bus we could take. We then agreed to take a 5 hour bus ride (stops included) to Charlottetown. Air Canada gave us the tickets, surprisingly. And we made our way to the Transportation terminal. When we arrived we found out there was only one seat left! If there was only one seat left, then they shouldn’t have given us the ticket for that time. So, one of us would be travelling home, while the other awaited for the next bus at 8:00am Saturday morning! After all the confusion and frustration at the Transportation terminal, I ended up leaving my sister at the airport while she awaited a family member to come and pick her up, while I went home on the bus. My sister was not refunded for her plane ticket, or the bus ticket, and she had to pay for the Confederation Bridge and the gas for our family member to come and get her. She lost out on over $250+. I recommend everyone to ignore Air Canada in their travels, they are the absolute worst airline I have ever been on. The flight was terrible, the customer service was awful, and the fact that we weren’t able to get a refund? Just unbearable. Terrible service, absolutely terrible.
