Heading the list are; Air New Zealand, Qatar Airways, Etihad Airways, Korean Air, Singapore Airlines, Qantas, Virgin Australia / Virgin Atlantic, EVA Air, Cathay Pacific Airways, Emirates, Lufthansa / Swiss, SAS, TAP Portugal, All Nippon Airways, Delta Air Lines, Air Canada, British Airways, Jet Blue, JAL, Vietnam Airlines, Turkish Airlines, Hawaiian, KLM, Alaska Airlines and United Airlines

To be named in the top twenty five, airlines must achieve a seven-star safety rating and demonstrate leadership in innovation for passenger comfort.

The editors of AirlineRatings.com, some of the most experienced and awarded, look for a consistent level of service, innovation, and staff engagement from each major contender.

Air New Zealand was ranked number 1 because of its cabin innovation of beds for economy class passengers on its new 787s, passenger service and rapid recovery from COVID disruptions.

Qatar Airways, which took out Airline Of The Year in 2021 and 22, won Best Business Class and Best Catering as well as Best Airline In The Middle East.

In the third position is Etihad Airways, which took Best Environmental Airlines Award for its leadership in the 787 Greenliner program.

In the fourth spot is Korean Air, followed by Singapore Airlines and Qantas.

Singapore Airlines was also awarded Best First Class, while Qantas won Best Lounges.

Virgin Australia (below) and Virgin Atlantic were in seventh place and also won Best Cabin Crew.

Taiwan’s EVA was named 8th, followed by Cathay Pacific Airways in the 9th spot and Emirates in the 10th spot. Emirates also won Best In-Flight Entertainment and Best Premium Economy, which is being installed on its A380s and later 777s.

The balance are: Lufthansa / Swiss, SAS, TAP Portugal, All Nippon Airways, Delta Air Lines, Air Canada, British Airways, Jet Blue, JAL, Vietnam Airlines, Turkish Airlines, Hawaiian, KLM, Alaska Airlines and United Airlines.
