Have Your Say

Can you please tell me whether Malaysia Airlines has completed the IOSA and whether their aircraft have the satellite device which may have prevented the sad demise of the Air Asia aeroplane? Thanks.

Malaysia Airlines have always been compliant and certified by IOSA yes. The only way to know if any airline features the latest satellite equipment is to contact the airline and speak to the engineers at the airline to pull up maintenance records. You can be reassured that whilst the new technology is better, the satellite imagery that most airlines are still using is very sophisticated and meets all international standards. Airlines can't just update every plane with new technology at once - it needs to be done plane by plane as not to interrupt passenger schedules and it takes time. This is why it's hard especially in a big airline to say a "yes" or "no" to an airline having a certain technology when it is still new.
