A word of warning to passengers who have more than one bag to go in the hold of the aircraft. My husband & I went to NZ in April on Air New Zealand from Perth. I decided to take my pillow & had it a soft holdall weighing no more than 3/4 kilos. I asked for it to go in the hold with our other bags, but was informed it would cost $200 as we were only allowed one bag each. We were within our luggage allowance, but because it was extra bag it had to go on the plane with us; therefore taking up more room in the overhead locker.
