Heard Peter Day, the BBC business reporter, state that he has not reclined his seat for over a decade (he’s a very frequent flyer). His stance is that to do so would be hypocritical because the bane of his travelling is getting his knees crushed by the seat in front. The program then spoke to various seat manufacturers including one who specialised in fixed seats. The question I have is does the benefit of a reclining seat outweigh the inconvenience to the person behind? My firm answer would be no. Any comments?
