This outrageous tax grab is not in the least surprising. Australia has become the rip-off capital of the world as far as I am concerned. Unfortunately, our government is far too willing to kowtow to other countries though. Recently, it cost me a total of USD55 for authorisation to enter the U.S.A. as a visitor. Do we have a reciprocal charge? No way. We only charge Americans USD35.
