Can anyone see QANTAS placing an order for the 777X or will another opportunity to add a brilliant aircraft to their fleet go begging? They missed the boat with earlier variants of the 777 with decisions that baffled both serious aviation analysts and enthusiasts alike. Surely management won’t put their heads in the sand again when they have the opportunity to get in quickly and secure early production slots. The 777X has the potential to be a brilliant aircraft that we know will eventually be placed in to service by QANTAS’ competitors. QANTAS paid a price for passing up the 777 on several occasions, surely the won’t do it again.
