    My son’s father booked a ticket through Aeromexico, he unfortunately made a mistake with spelling my son’s name (stupid I know, but nevertheless, a mistake). Aeromexico would not change the name on the ticket, we had to cancel the ticket – which they then told us was non-refundable!!!! (Lost a bunch of money!!) And had to buy another ticket!! We really could not afford to do this, it has been really sickening and caused a lot of anxiety in the family as I did not want my son not to be able to visit his father. Why do airlines have this dumb policy? How do they get away with ripping people off like this?

    Pretty much every airline has this policy and it's a bit ridiculous. If you have a flexible fare ticket you are usually ok and may only have to pay what they call an 'admin fee'. Qantas are great in that they have a 24 hour change period for things like typos on tickets or wrong dates but they are one of only a handful.
