Have Your Say

I booked in January with Monarch for a flight to Gran Canaria on 22 June 2016 & returning 6 July.
I have recently received an email from Monarch to say we will now be flying with Smartlynx, a Latvian airline. I have never heard of this company and am rather perturbed by this especially as I am not a lover of flying and 1 of the granddaughters flying with us is terrified. I have done some research on the flight we are HAVING to take and it states their Air Worthiness Certificate is up on 26 June 2016. I have contacted Monarch re this and they say it will be OK for the return flight as it will be checked by then????? I am PETRIFIED now, is there anything I can do, other than Monarchs suggestion to change flights at a cost?

That's absolutely nothing to worry about - it means it's the date of next renewal much like when you get a new credit card. You don't get your new card six months before the old one expires - you get it just a bit before. See our page for Smartlynx and their safety rating here https://www.airlineratings.com/ratings/481/smartlynx
