The “near miss” of the two aircraft at Barcelona was a really (really) misleading and inaccurate piece of journalism!
Firstly the two aircraft were nowhere near the “few metres” as described in the article, the video clearly shows the aircraft on approach as being several hundred feet above the runway, not even close for a missed approach that can be completed even following a complete touchdown.
To the pilots it would have been nothing more than an annoyance and being late for maybe a planned dinner at the hotel!
Under no circumstances was it an emergency manoeuvre!!!”
Just a normal everyday go around procedure practiced many, many times around the world for a variety of reasons!
