Singapore’s air force and emergency services were activated on Thursday to escort a Scoot flight back to the city-state’s Changi Airport after a bomb threat, the budget airline said in a statement Reuters reported.
The news agency reported that Scoot said in a statement: “A “precautionary” decision was made to turn back the Perth-bound flight about an hour into the journey “due to a bomb threat”.
Reuters said that the flight landed in Singapore at 6:27 p.m. where security checks were carried out.
According to Channel 9 in Australia, an Australian man was arrested.
Passengers reported that Singapore Air Force F-15 fighters accompanied the Boeing 787 back to Singapore.
