However, the ratings do not take into consideration every safety parameter, such as pilot training standards, nor can we predict such occurrences as terrorism, extreme weather, “acts of God” and failures of air traffic control. Our safety system is a guide only.
For instance, sometimes airlines, lease in aircraft and crews from another airline to provide a service on a short-term or long-term basis.
Airline Ratings Pty Ltd does not – and cannot – take into account safety incidents which occur to every airline, every day. Some incidents are the fault of the airline, others are not. And some countries do not report all incidents.
