A newspaper journalist for more than 35 years, Steve Creedy has worked in a variety of reporting and managerial positions at publications in Australia and the US. He began writing about aviation in 1993 while working for US morning daily the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette but traces his interest in the subject back to regular visits as a child to Gatwick Airport to “watch the planes’’. As aviation editor/writer at Australia’s national newspaper, The Australian, for 17 years, he was responsible for developing the publication’s popular aviation section into an industry staple. Steve was also president for a decade of Australia’s National Aviation Press Club, is a winner of Australasian aviation journalist of the year award and a contributor to two books on aviation and the environment. He was most recently editorial manager at air navigation services provider Airservices Australia.
